Koh Lipe
Thailand · Asia · 1,210 people · Asia/Bangkok · THB
Koh Lipe scores 55.9/100 for digital nomads under balanced weights, ranking 743 of 1000 cities. Expect about $1,000 per month (country-level estimate), a nomad visa (Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)), and a measured median download speed of 18.3 Mbps.
Koh Lipe is a tiny island in Tarutao marine park near the Malaysian border, crossed on foot in twenty minutes, with clear water, snorkelling trips and a strip of guesthouses and bars along Walking Street. It is a holiday island rather than a base: everything is shipped in and priced accordingly, internet is patchy, and from May to October boats from Pak Bara thin out and much of the island shuts.
