## Who can apply

Any nationality. You must hold an employment contract with a company established outside Indonesia and carry out that company's work remotely; the Directorate General of Immigration asks for bank records proving salary or income of at least US$60,000 a year. No Indonesian sponsor or guarantor is needed.

## What you need

- Passport valid for at least six months
- Recent colour passport photo (taken within the last year)
- Curriculum vitae
- Travel itinerary
- Bank statements for the last three months in your name (or a guarantor's) showing at least US$2,000 or the equivalent
- Bank records proving salary or income of at least US$60,000 a year
- Employment contract with a company established outside Indonesia
- All files as PDF or JPEG uploads

Income proof: The Directorate states the threshold annually in US dollars; US$5,000 is US$60,000 divided by 12. Separately, the general living-cost proof is three months of bank statements in your name (or a guarantor's) showing at least US$2,000 or the equivalent.

Fee: US$390 is Rp7,000,000 converted at the ECB reference rates of 2026-10-02 (IDR 20,149.32 and US$1.1225 per euro). These are the non-tax state revenue (PNBP) amounts set by Government Regulation 45/2024; extensions carry a similar permit and re-entry fee, and visa agents charge extra for assistance.

Processing: The Directorate General of Immigration states a processing time of five working days after the visa payment is received, covering completeness check, payment verification, profiling, approval and issuance.

## How to apply

Online. Online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id, the Directorate General of Immigration's e-visa portal; create an account, apply from anywhere in the world and receive the e-visa by email. The ITAS and re-entry permit issue at the immigration checkpoint on arrival.

1. Register an account on evisa.imigrasi.go.id and select the E33G remote worker visa for a one-year stay.
2. Upload your passport (valid at least six months), a recent colour photo, CV and itinerary, plus three months of bank statements showing at least US$2,000.
3. Upload your employment contract with the foreign company and bank records proving salary or income of at least US$60,000 a year.
4. Pay the Rp7,000,000 immigration fees online and wait about five working days for the visa to be issued by email.
5. Enter Indonesia within 90 days of issue; the limited stay permit and re-entry permit are granted automatically at passport control, and you extend online before the year ends.

## After you arrive

Stay and renewal: The visa gives a one-year stay. The limited stay permit (ITAS) and re-entry permit are issued automatically when you pass immigration, and the permit can be extended online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id; the Directorate does not state a cap on extensions. The visa itself must be used to enter within 90 days of issue.

Residence: The Directorate says the E33G stay permit can be extended and converted to other stay permits, but does not say whether time on it counts toward the permanent stay permit (ITAP), which is normally reached after three consecutive years of ITAS in qualifying categories. Treat a permanent-residence path as unconfirmed.

Family: The Directorate's E33G page does not provide for accompanying family members. Spouses and children apply for their own visas, in practice a family-reunion limited stay visa tied to your ITAS once it is issued; confirm the current index and requirements with the Directorate or an immigration lawyer.

Taxes: You become an Indonesian tax resident after 183 days in any 12-month period and are then taxed on worldwide income at progressive rates, subject to Indonesia's double-tax treaties and to concessions for foreign residents in their first four years. Register for an NPWP tax number if you become resident and take local advice.

## In practice

- The visa is valid for entry for 90 days from issue; if you do not travel in time you must apply and pay again.
- You may not work for Indonesian employers or sell goods or services in Indonesia except as part of your remote job; doing so breaches the permit.
- Canggu and Ubud in Bali have the densest nomad scene and coworking; Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Kuta (Lombok) are cheaper and quieter. Bali immigration enforces visa rules actively.
- Keep the e-visa PDF and proof of onward travel for the airline; the ITAS and re-entry permit are generated electronically at the border and you can download them from the portal.

## By passport

| Passports | Note |
| --- | --- |
| EU, EEA, CH | Visa on arrival or e-VOA for 30 days (extendable once) is available to scout; apply for the E33G online from abroad or while visiting, then enter on it. |
| US, GB, CA, AU, NZ | Eligible on the same terms with 30-day visa on arrival for scouting; the E33G application is fully online and needs no Indonesian sponsor. |
| All other passports | Open to all nationalities. A small number of countries on Indonesia's calling-visa list need additional clearance before any visa is issued, which adds time. |
